【Main ingredient】 Oxytetracycline

【Characters】This product is yellow to light brown yellow clear liquid.

【Pharmacological action】

Pharmacodynamic oxytetracycline broad-spectrum antibiotics, staphylococcus, hemolytic streptococcus, anthrax, clostridium tetanus and clostridium clostridium and other gram-positive bacteria effect stronger, but not as β-lactam. It is more sensitive to gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Brucella and Pasteurella, but less sensitive to aminoglycosides and aminoalcohols. This product can also inhibit Rickettsia, chlamydia, mycoplasma, spirochaeta, actinomyces and some protozoa.

【Drug interaction】

(1) The same use with strong diuretics such as furosemide can aggravate renal damage.

(2) It is a fast bacteriostatic drug, which can interfere with the bactericidal effect of penicillin on the bacterial breeding period, and should be avoided.

(3) When used with calcium salts, iron salts or drugs containing metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, aluminum, bismuth, iron, etc. (including Chinese herbs), insoluble complexes can be formed to reduce the absorption of drugs.

【Effect and use】 Tetracycline antibiotics. For some gram-positive and negative bacteria, Rickettsial, mycoplasma and other infections.

【Usage and dosage】 Intramuscular injection: one dose, 0.1 ~ 0.2ml per 1kg body weight of livestock.

【Adverse reaction】

(1) Local stimulation. The hydrochloride aqueous solution of this class of drugs has strong irritation, and intramuscular injection can cause pain, inflammation and necrosis at the injection site.

(2) Intestinal flora disorder. Tetracycline drugs produce a broad spectrum of inhibition on equine intestinal bacteria, and then secondary infections are caused by drug-resistant Salmonella or unknown pathogens (including clostridium, etc.), leading to severe and even fatal diarrhea. This condition often occurs after high doses of intravenous administration, but low doses of intramuscular injection may also occur.

(3) Affect tooth and bone development. Tetracycline drugs enter the body and bind to calcium, which is deposited in the teeth and bones. This class of drugs are also easy to pass through the placenta and enter the milk, so pregnant animals, lactating animals and small animals are prohibited, and milk is prohibited during the drug administration of dairy cattle.

(4) Liver and kidney damage. These drugs have toxic effects on liver and kidney cells. Tetracycline antibiotics can cause dose-dependent renal function changes in many animals.

(5) Anti-metabolic effect. Tetracycline drugs can cause azotaemia and can be exacerbated by the presence of steroid drugs, which can also cause metabolic acidosis and electrolyte imbalance.

【Cautions】

（1）This product should be dark and airtight, stored in a cool and dry place. Avoid sun light. Do not use metal containers to hold medicine.

（2）Gastroenteritis can sometimes occur in horses after injection, and should be used with caution.

（3） It should not be used when the liver and kidney function of the affected animal are seriously damaged.
